This last track grew from a pre-chorus that I thought up all the way back in the middle of 2006 - it didn't get worked up into a full song idea until much later on. It's the fastest-paced song on the album but includes a couple of much slower sections as well.

When I first laid out the track list this one was originally called "The Last of My Angels", but I felt it was too similar to "Angel Eye", and that "Carry the Rings" was a much better title (and a greater hint to what the song was actually about). But the interpretation is up to you.
